Espresso Machine : Which coffee beans should you choose ?
.
.
Whether you have a coffee bean machine from :
.
- Delonghi
- Jura
- Melitta
- Krups
- Saeco
- Philips
- Etc.
.
Here's the guide to our carefully chosen selection of quality coffee beans.
.
All the coffees are of course from our range and thought out so that you can better understand what one or the other blend might be suitable for (which one is better for a ristretto or a cappuccino, macchiato, etc.)
.
But before presenting them to you, we would first like to answer (and reassure) you about a legend in the coffee world: There is no such thing as a coffee FOR lungo/american and/or FOR espresso.
.
Let me explain: coffees are often "designed" for different extraction methods or drinks, that's for sure (due to their roasting, their origins, their aromatic profile...) but don't let yourself be held back by a designation on a packaging: all coffees can be used to make espresso, americano, cappuccino ... etc. Your tastes are UNIQUE.
.
Coffee should please YOUR tastes, so vary the pleasures and explore different things ... that's how you will find your ideal blend! All the coffees presented and selected are judged by their quality and the result in the cup.
.
Here is our ranking of the best coffee beans for espresso grinders Delonghi, Jura, Saeco, Sage/Breville ... etc :

Coffee like at the bar in Italy: Mokarico Rossa
.
We start with one of our favourites. The one that makes us travel to the centre of Florence just by closing our eyes and bringing our lips to our coffee cup. Marked by that touch of dark chocolate, this coffee is clean with lots of body, ideal for espresso and/or ristretto.
.
Mokarico is a Florentine roastery run by the Paladini family. Extremely well known in Italy, it is one of the founding members of the Italian National Espresso Institute. (IEI = Istituto Espresso Italiano)

The balanced coffee blend : Carraro Primo mattino
.
.
In Schio, a small city not far from Verona and Vicenza, there is a family roastery whose motto is "Ogni giorno migliore" = Better each day. This blend is the type of coffee as they like it in Northern Italy. Suitable for Americano and espresso, it brings you little bitterness, with beautiful notes of raisins and toast... very pleasant!

The typical South-Italian blend: Lollo Classico
.
.
The ideal espresso, just as appreciated in Naples, Calabria, Sicily ... a coffee that takes us back to the roots of Italian coffee. A coffee without a nice and dense crema and a lot of character is not considered coffee in southern Italy.
.
It does not bear its name for nothing: Its balance of woody notes (whisky barrel) and honey bring that touch of authenticity that one finds in the best arms of Naples and the whole Amalfi coast. The classic is the traditional coffee, as the Neapolitans want it.

Fruity but intense: Lollo Oro (Excellent in macchiato and Irish Coffee)
.
.
The "Oro" blend is so named because it contains almost 90% Arabica from the best plantations in South America. It brings that touch of citrus in the mouth that makes it sweet enough to be enjoyed black. Its low caffeine content makes it an excellent choice as a digestive coffee, which can also be enjoyed in peace in the late afternoon or with a dessert (by the way, we recommend it for making affogato or latte macchiato).

Our favorite one for Cappuccino : Mokarico Columbia
.
.
The "Columbia" is a special, high quality blend. A blend based on real Java Arabica (beans from the Indonesian Island), making it pleasantly aromatic: with its distinctive notes of hazelnut and vanilla, it is perfect for making tasty and generous cappuccinos. We also appreciate it a lot in doppio espresso, because its density allows it to keep its generosity in the cup, even when it is longer.

Our PREMIUM Arabica selection : 1927 Premium Blend + Mokarico Noir
.
.
No fuss here: both blends have certified quality origins and grain types and, above all, are used in some of the best restaurants in the country (such as Enoteca Pinchiorri, to name but one). In short :
.
Le Mokarico Noir = Blend made of Brazilian Santos (40% -Sul de Minas and Cerrado), Ethiopian coffees which give it a flowery aroma, Honduran Arabicas for the citrus side and above all Kenyan Arabicas for the vinous retro-olfactive intensity.
.
1927 Signature Blend = The synthesis of more than 80 years of Caffè Carraro know-how and experience. It is composed of a selection of eight of the best Arabicas produced each year from all over the world, individually roasted and blended immediately before being packed in a protected atmosphere.
.
In the cup, a balanced structure with a compact crema, an intense aroma, a full body and a persistent chocolate aftertaste. Low caffeine content.
