This ground coffee for the moka pot comes from the legendary Sant'Eustachio il Caffè, the bar and roastery on Piazza Sant'Eustachio in Rome, just steps from the Pantheon and Piazza Navona. Since 1938 the coffee has been roasted over a wood fire. Its 100% Arabica blend is ground especially for the Italian stovetop coffee maker (moka), in a beautiful 250g metal tin that protects its aroma.

Where do the coffees in this blend come from?

The Sant'Eustachio blend brings together Arabica from several producing countries, bought directly from small cooperatives:

• Brazil, Sul de Minas region (naturally sun-dried)
• St Helena island, in the middle of the South Atlantic
• Dominican Republic
• Galápagos Islands (Bourbon variety)
• Guatemala, Chajul region
• Ethiopia, Sidamo region

The exact composition may vary slightly from one harvest to the next, as the roaster selects the best coffees each season.

Which coffee maker?

This coffee is ground for the Italian stovetop coffee maker (moka pot, Bialetti type). Fill the filter without pressing, heat on a low flame and remove the pot as soon as the coffee starts to rise: you get an Italian coffee just like in Rome.

Sant'Eustachio il Caffè, a Roman legend

The building on Piazza Sant'Eustachio already housed a « Caffè e Latte » around 1800. In 1938 the wood-fire roastery Sant'Eustachio il Caffè was born there; today it is one of Rome's best-known coffee bars, run since 1999 by the Ricci brothers. Its logo, a deer with a cross between its antlers, recalls the legend of Saint Eustace. A lovely gift idea for lovers of Italy.
